Microplastic Curricula
This six-part lesson plan leverages student and educator activities to engage your community on the issue of marine microplastic pollution. Use this curriculum in your classroom to educate students on microplastics through a series of outdoor experiential learning activities and hands-on projects.
Educator Workshops
Our staff provides training to informal educators at partner institutions on the use of DIY community science tools so that they can host workshops and events utilizing MFTM Educational Kits
DIY Toolkits
We curate, create, and distribute DIY science toolkits to improve access to environmental science in educational settings. Each toolkit comes with all the parts and pieces needed to build your tool, plus building instructions, use-cases, and lesson plans.
Our Origin
Messages From The Mississippi programming grew from the Education and Kits programming at Public Lab. Messages From The Mississippi was developed in direct response to rapid changes in the coastal environment that have become apparent in the first decades of the 21st century.
